Organisations who post here

Neighbourhood houses, community centres, Men's Sheds, health services, sports clubs with free sessions, libraries, churches running a free lunch. Verified organisations post their own notices, marked "official", the same way the council's appear.

None verified yet beyond the City of Clarence, whose notices are read from its website. If you run a community organisation on the Eastern Shore, take the pledge.

The pledge

A verified organisation agrees to this about everything it lists:

  1. What we list is free, and nobody has to pay, join or sign anything to take part.
  2. It is open to anyone it is described for. Nobody is turned away for not being a member, client or believer.
  3. Nothing is sold, and nobody is recruited, converted or signed up during it.
  4. We do not collect names, contact details or photographs of people who come through this board.
  5. If we list anything for people under 18, everyone running it holds current Tasmanian Registration to Work with Vulnerable People, and we take full responsibility for it.
  6. We take our notices down if they stop being true.

Their notices are still screened, still reportable, and still come down if they stop being true. What verification adds is trust: an organisation's notices can link to its own website, can run at staffed venues in the evening, and, where its people hold Registration to Work with Vulnerable People, can be for young people.

Run a community organisation on the Eastern Shore? Take the pledge. It takes a few minutes and a verified mobile, and a person will check the organisation is real before anything appears.
